The pendant is a small domed disc: a raised gold-tone spiral coils across an inlay that flashes green, violet and pale silver as you turn, in the irregular banding of abalone. No two catches of light look quite the same. It hangs from a slim bail on a fine oval-bead chain.

One design, one finish — gold-tone throughout, with a lobster clasp and an extender so it can sit at the collarbone or drop just below it.

Light enough for a t-shirt day, and quietly good against a tan and a linen shirt.

Wear Edith through the summer and stop thinking about it. The natural stone does the work; keep the rest of what you are wearing as relaxed as the piece is.

It layers well with one other length. Put Edith on first, add something longer underneath, and leave about two inches between them so neither disappears into the other.
