Calliope Spiral Shell Cuff Bangle – Ridged Shell
A coil that catches the light every time your wrist moves.
- Waterproof
- Hypo-allergenic
- Tarnish-resistant
- Colour for life
Spiral shells set end to end, each with a small stone at its centre.
The band is built from a run of shell curls that overlap slightly, so it ripples across the wrist instead of sitting flat, and a tiny round crystal is bezel-set into the eye of every spiral. It is an open cuff with the gap at the back — slide it on sideways and ease it gently to fit.
Two patterns, both gold-tone. Ridged Shell is the finer of the two, with fluted ribs running through every curl. Smooth Spiral is broader and heavier, polished to a clean high shine. Same silhouette, different amount of noise.
Holiday-looking against a tan in August, just as good over a black sleeve in November.
Choose your spiral.
Wear Calliope through the summer and stop thinking about it. The natural stone does the work; keep the rest of what you are wearing as relaxed as the piece is.
Wear Calliope alone, on a bare wrist, with the sleeve pushed back. At this weight a stack around it only muddles the shape.
One piece in the collection genuinely belongs with it: Camille Turquoise Necklace — a smaller piece that sits under Calliope rather than competing with it. The difference in scale is what makes the pair work.
There isn't any, and that's the point. Shower in it, swim in it, sweat in it, sleep in it. Chlorine, salt water and sanitizer are all fine.
The one honest limit: perfume, hairspray, body oil and nail polish remover dull any finish over time, ours included. Apply those first, jewelry second.

Bracelet & Bangle Size Guide
From adjustable chains to open cuffs and bangles, most Macaje wrist pieces fit a range of wrists. Start with the chart below.
| Size | Wrist | Recommended Length |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 5.0–5.5″ (12.7–14 cm) | 6.0–6.5″ (15.2–16.5 cm) |
| S | 5.5–6.0″ (14–15.2 cm) | 6.5–7.0″ (16.5–17.8 cm) |
| M | 6.0–6.5″ (15.2–16.5 cm) | 7.0–7.5″ (17.8–19.1 cm) |
| L | 6.5–7.0″ (16.5–17.8 cm) | 7.5–8.0″ (19.1–20.3 cm) |
| XL | 7.0–7.5″+ (17.8–19.1 cm+) | 8.0–8.5″ (20.3–21.6 cm) |
- Most Macaje bracelets and cuffs are adjustable or open-style, fitting wrists from about 5.5" to 8" (14–20 cm). Anklets follow the same sizing, with roughly 2" (5 cm) extra so they drape at the ankle.
How to measure your wrist
-
Wrap a tape or string
Wrap a soft measuring tape — or a strip of string, then measure it against a ruler — around your wrist, just past the wrist bone.
-
Keep it snug, not tight
The tape should sit the way a bracelet does: close to the skin, without pinching.
-
Choose your fit
Snug: add about 0.5" to your wrist measurement. Everyday: add 0.75–1". Loose and dangling: add 1.25" or more.
Gently — the open-style cuffs and bangles flex slightly wider or narrower by hand. Move them in small increments so you don't over-bend the metal.
A bracelet is a flexible chain that sits loosely on the wrist; a bangle is a rigid band that slides over the hand. Bangles run slightly larger than your wrist so the hand can pass through.
Size up for bracelets, down for bangles. Extra room in a chain is comfortable; a bangle only needs enough clearance to slide on and off.

Design notes
Made to be left on.
Most everyday jewellery is brass underneath, and brass reacts with water and skin. The Calliope Spiral Shell Cuff Bangle – Ridged Shell is gold-tone over a stainless-steel core, so there's nothing to tarnish and no reason to take it off.
